Common Brake Problems

  • Brake warning light: Illuminates when there's an issue with the braking system, such as low brake fluid or worn brake pads.

  • Pulling to one side: Can be caused by uneven brake pad wear or a stuck caliper.

  • Burning smell: Indicates overheating brakes, often caused by dragging brakes or a seized brake caliper.

  • Visible brake pad wear: If you can see less than a quarter-inch of pad, it's time for replacement.

  • Fluid leaks: Puddles of brake fluid under the car or near the wheels indicate a leak in the brake system.

  • Longer stopping distances: If it takes longer to stop, it may be due to worn brake pads or low brake fluid.
