Signs of Engine Failure

  • Check Engine Light: This light is the most obvious clue

  • Constant Overheating: If the engine is overheating often we recommended getting an inspection done. As excess overheating in your engine may cause additional damage. Such as your cylinder head warping and cracking causing pressure to leak.

  • Decreasing Fuel Economy: If your fuel efficiency takes a sudden dip it might be due to faulty O2 sensors, improper air flow, or faulty injectors. Getting an inspection is recommended for those issues.

  • Loss of Power: When your car isn't using fuel efficiently due to problems like a clogged air filter or fuel injector, it can cause issues in the exhaust system. This can lead to a noticeable drop in power when the exhaust gets clogged with dirt and soot from the engine.

  • Engine Stalling: Engine stalling can indicate engine failure as it often results from issues like fuel delivery problems, faulty sensors, or mechanical malfunctions that disrupt the engine's normal operation.

  • Rough Idle: Rough idling can signal engine failure as it often stems from issues like misfiring, vacuum leaks, or faulty components that cause the engine to run unevenly and inefficiently.

  • Excessive Noises and Vibrations: Excessive noises and vibrations can be signs of engine failure, often caused by issues like worn engine mounts, damaged components, or internal engine imbalances that disrupt smooth operation.
